Celebrating Love @ Work in Progress ❤️

Welcoming our first WIP of 2025 by celebrating the month of love with some fine folks at our February gathering!

A lot has happened since our last WIP (to say the least) so it was nice to spend time with our community. Thank you to everyone who joined us 🙂

We had three inspiring presentations that showcased creativity, passion, and authenticity:

• Alyssa Borrelli took us behind the scenes of her recent project for LA City Council candidate Ysabel Jurado, sharing her design process and how she infused the campaign with a bold, community-centered vibe. Her reference to See Call Jacob gave the project a true LA flair—sooo fierece and iconic, LOL! Connect with Alyssa on IG!

• Katia Oloy introduced us to her passion project, Anxiety in Wonderland, blending fine art with personal storytelling to spread awareness about mental health. She also shared her exciting plans to step further into the fine art space and amplify her voice through exhibitions. See more of her work through her website ~

• James Hsu gave us a candid look at his work-in-progress thesis on design influence, unpacking how it shapes careers and creative decisions. His insights were raw, honest, and exactly the kind of talk I wish I heard when I was starting out. ICYMI. Check out the full presentation on his YouTube channel, Dark Academy.
